CGIO Best Paper in International Corporate Governance IM Division AOM

Giovanni Battista Dagnino and Pasquale Massimo Picone win the “CGIO Best Paper in International Corporate Governance Award”Monday August 4, 2014, in Philadelphia, USA, the International Management Division of the Academy of Management has awarded the prestigious recognition to the two fellows of the University of Catania 

 

Giovanni Battista Dagnino, professor of Business Economics and Management, and Pasquale Massimo Picone, post-doctoral Research Fellow in Management and lecturer of Corporate Finance in the Department of Economics and Business of the University of Catania, have received – with their co-authors, Maurizio La Rocca (University of Calabria) and Claudio Giachetti (University of Venice “Ca’ Foscari”) – the “CGIO Best Paper in International Corporate Governance Award” of the International Management Division of the Academy of Management, the global academy gathering some 20,000 management students and scholars from worldwide. The award is sponsored by the Centre for Governance, Institutions and Organization of the National University of Singapore and consists in a plague and a prize.
The two Sicilian scholars have been awarded the Academy prize for submitting their paper titled “Unveiling the Antecedents of International Diversification: An Agency Theory Approach”.
The prestigious award  goes to an explorative study on the corporate governance preconditions of international diversification of Italian firms observed through the lens of the agency theory over three decades.
